default
Posted on Wed, 17 Dec 2014
Question: I just got my blood tests done recently and observed abnormalities in my bilirubin count and am keen on knowing what's wrong with my body. As besides fatigue and some redness in my eyes, i have no starkling observation to reveal.

Brief Answer:
Not a cause to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your lab reports.

Your liver enzymes are normal. And the bilirubin's slightly high. But it is the indirect bilirubin is high .this suggests that there is no liver injury.

The cause for this rise in bilirubin could be a viral fever or due to medications.

In any case you do not need any treatment and the levels should come down to normal .

I would advise to repeat bilirubin after a month.
In case it still remains high after a month it could be Gilbert's syndrome( a condition in which the indirect bilirubin always remains high. This condition is harmless and does not need treatment)

You do not need any medications or change in diet. You can carry out your routine activities as before. Rest is not needed
Hope this helps
