Question: Hi, my dad is 64 yrs and from last 3 yrs he has been having speech problems. We can barely understand what he is trying to say. It is getting worse as time is passing. His vision an motor skills also seems to be slightly under performing. We have taken him to several neuro physicians/surgeons and evryone almost said same thing that this ia happening due to some blood clott in the nerve of the brain. There is not much we they can do to improve except prescribing some medicine. He is currently taking following pills ---
Strolin P
Vibrania D
Ropark 0.5
Apart from he takes daily medicine for high BP. I think COVANCE D. He had stunt operation like 10 yrs back and was succesfull.
I just want some help and direction to follow? Please help us.

Brief Answer:
Needs further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your father's symptoms and his current medications.

He needs further evaluation to arrive at a correct diagnosis. This would include an MRI scan of brain, which would clearly show the blood clots (infarcts in brain), which occur due to reduced blood flow to the brain.

The MRI brain findings could explain the slurred speech, visual and motor symptoms.

Medications can be given to improve the blood circulation, prevent further blood clots and also to improve his symptoms.

In addition, physiotherapy and speech therapy would also help in speeding up his recovery. The extent of recovery would depend on the extent of damage to brain tissue due to lack of blood supply and/or any degeneration.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
