What Causes Small Cortical Cyst In Left Kidney?
Question: Hi, I just got my MRI report and it says there is a 7mm cortical cyst in the lower pole of left kidney (family DR. didn't mention anything to me). I have constant pain in my left lower back no matter what I am doing, lying down, standing. walking. it is hard to do anything for a long period of time. I also have excessive sweating pain in lower pelvis, nausea, dizziness. Could this be caused by the cyst on my kidney?

Your symptoms are most likely not related to renal cyst.
Findings suggest small cortical cyst in left kidney.This is a benign finding and generally it doesn't require any treatment.These are age rated developmental cysts and these are generally asymptomatic.
Lower backache may be due to some other reasons.As many investigations has been done and these are negative.I suggest you to evaluate for arthritis.Many cases of arthritis,patient present with backache and MRI etc are normal.
You may need X-ray of both hands,X-ray both SI joint(prone position) and few blood tests for arthritis.You also need clinical evaluation by a rheumatologist.
Treatment depend upon findings.
