What Causes Small Fluid Filled Sore On Shin Area?
Question: I have a small sore on my right leg shin area that has been "weeping" a clear liquid for about 2 weeks. I have tried alternating hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol and a tube of wound healing honey and put sterile gauze patch over. Also there is a slight redness/swelling to a small area of the leg, but I'm mostly concerned about that clear liquid seeping out. Please advise. Thank you
Brief Answer:
possible infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM,
There is a possibility of an infection causing the unhealing area on your leg. You have done many of the things that should cause most sores to heal up. The clear fluid is a sign of inflammation. When the body is trying to fight off something or heal up something it causes an inflammatory reaction and weeping clear fluid is a sign of this inflammation. I would keep putting the antibiotic salve on it and get in to see your doctor as soon as possible.
Let me know if you have further questions.
