Brief Answer:
A lymph node or a salivary gland.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The most likely causes for this lump behind the jaw will be an enlarged lymph node or an enlarged salivary gland.

2. This will be a benign and treatable lump. There is no cause for worry.

3. On examination and a Neck USG (Ultrasound) will settle the issue.

4. Lymph nodes under one centimeter in size are considered normal. Any salivary gland swelling must be investigated.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
