What Causes Small Lumps Under The Armpit After Waxing?
Question: Hi Doctor, I am having light 4-5 armpit lumps on both the sides from last 1 week. Actually I shaved my under arms around a week ago. Then it grew. Is it because of this? It settled down a bit in the mid week but again its hurting since y'day. May be because I used roll-on deo last day. Will it settle down itself or it might be serious issue? Can u suggest some ointment to get relief. I am having Tretinoin cream at home. Can this be used?

My Opinion-
As these lumps are from post-shave occurrence since 1 week,possibility of these lumps getting resolved with Tretinoin-is less.Only early stage pimples or folliculitis of arm could be treated with tretinoin cream.
Tretinoin is known to act by its anti-inflammaotry actions in folliculitis/acne and is recently been used to treat folliculitis/ acne.
In the given scenarios-I would suggest you to use-
a-Tretinoin Cream for 3-4 days with Cold compresses.
b-If no relief, you need to Consult family doctor/ and or-Surgeon, and get script for antibiotics-like Clindamycin/Ofloxacin and Diclofenac Tabs for 5 days period,as the lumps are in 4-5 numbers.
You also need to rule out-Diabetes by blood sugar tests from lab tests.
You are right in assuming that these lumps have occurred due to shaving of the armpits you had.
Proper hygiene after shaving would prevent its recurrence in time to come.
