What Causes Small Red Spots Around Beltline Area?
Question: I have a couple of small red spots around my beltline....herpes wouldn't be that far up would they?
Brief Answer:
herpes is a possibility.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I had gone through your query.
The beltline area is not a common localization of herpes simplex lesions but it is possible to be herpes.
If they are painful ,itchy ,clusters of blisters it is possible to be herpes.Other possible causes include skin irritation, fungal infection, dermatitis etc.
It would be really helpful if you could provide a close picture of the affected area.In this way I can give you a better judgement regarding the possible diagnosis.
Kind regards,

Please view the picture and let me know.....they don't not itch or hurt
Brief Answer:
it doesn't seem to be herpes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Thank you for providing the picture.
No,it doesn't seem to b herpes.
It looks like common skin irritation probably due to sweat and friction with clothes.
It doesn't seem to be of concern and doesn't indicate any specific condition.
Try to keep the area clean and dry .You can apply some diaper rash cream .
The spots will go away on their own.
Let me know if you have any other question.

I have been walking a lot in 85 degree weather for my job....I also have 3 or 4 spots identical under my left arm, so I hope that rules out herpes...please advise
Brief Answer:
It is not herpes
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
It is not herpes. The localization of the spots and the look of the spots excludes herpes.
It seems to be just skin irritation due to heat and sweating.
Try to wash these areas with warm water and try to keep these areas dry.
The spots will resolve on their own.

I have had an icy hot feeling in groin area and thighs that comes in flashes. This also isn't herpes is it?
Brief Answer:
doesn't seem to be related to herpes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
It doesn't seem to be related to herpes.
Usually herpes can cause itchiness ,tingling ,burning sensation in the area where the blisters appear.
If you have any redness or rash present in the groin area or thighs , it might be a fungal infection the cause.
If you don't have any sign and the skin looks normal ,it might be related to muscular pain ,if you have done physical activity lately .
If the symptoms doesn't seem to go away ,you should consult a physician for physical examination .

Please see the latest picture. I discovered this last night. This falls right between thigh and groin, right on crease. Please tell me this isn't herpes either?
Brief Answer:
detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
I had through the picture you have provided.
It doesn't seem to be herpes.
It is not typical for herpes to affect the groin area and usually there is tingling and itching before the blisters appear in the affected area.
It seems to be a skin rash due to moisture and friction.A fungal infection is also likely.
I would suggest to keep the area dry.Wash it with warm water and dry it with a clean towel.Wear cotton underwear and loose clothes to avoid friction.
If it doesn't seem to improve in 1-2 days you can try an over the counter antifungal cream like Clotrimazole or Miconazole (Daktarin) twice a day for 1 week.
