What Causes Small Ulcers On Tongue After Removing Molar Roots?
Question: I had the roots of 2 molar teeth removed about 2 months ago. Several shots of anesthesia on each side of gum of teeth. Ever since I have had 3 small ulcers on my tongue - that side. They go away if I faithfully rinse with Hydrogen Peroxide and use Kenalog but when I stop, they come back. I am wondering if I am allergic to chocolate .... my "favorite" treat. Dark chocolate gives me migraines and now I'm wondering if milk chocolate could be doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for consulting HCM.
Apthous ulcer or mouth ulcers can be due to several reasons.
I don't think it is associated with your teeth removal.
If it's due to allergy then there is only one option is to avoid the substance which is causing the allergy.
Mostly mouth ulcers are due to vitamin deficiency or stress. In that case I would advice you to take a course of multivitamin supplement. This really helps in case of mouth ulcers.
Use antiseptic mouthwash.
Live a stress free life.
Hope this answer helps. Get back to me if there's any further query regarding.

I have had a lot of stress the past several months. It's hard for a 70 year old woman, after living in one town for 30 years, to move - pull up roots, find new friends, church, doctors (that's the hardest). I still drive the 3 hours for my dentist. That well could be it, or part of it.
I take a good many vitamins ..... would you mind telling me what, and how much, of any particular vitamin or vitamins would be helpful with this? I'd sure like to get rid of them. It's on the right side of my tongue, just a little line of them, with 3 small areas that look like small ulcers.
I really do appreciate your answers ...... thank you so much. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
