What Causes Soft Stool With Flatulence And Growling In Stomach?
Question: For the past two weeks I have experienced normal colored stools that are softer than usual and stick to the toilet. Additionally, increased flatulence, stomach growling. I do not have pain. Basic metabolic panel anc CBC panel were normal. I have polycystic kidney disease with a 10 yr. old live donor transplant. Since transplant I take hydrochlorothyaside (50mg), cellcept, and cyclosporine.
Brief Answer:
food change and colonoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I understand your concern. Sticky food is usually connected with some changes in your food intake but could also be a result of some other conditions which could affect your body. So my suggestion is to visit your GP to test your blood on anemia, because this is sometimes the reason for sticky stool. If you have anemia, your doctor will send you to do colonoscopy to examine your bowel to exclude any severe condition.
Until than, try to add more fiber into your food, for example more vegetables and fruit and drink enough water, 1.5-2 L per day. Try to avoid fatty food and junk food.
I hope this answer was helpful to you.

My CBC and basic metabolic panels done a week ago suggest I am not anemic. I do have mild diverticulosis associated with polycystic kidney disease. I had a clear colonoscopy 2 years ago. Would lipase and amylase testing be indicated related to pancreas?
Brief Answer:
Pancreas and liver enzymes
Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for this query,
yes, while taking your blood test your doctor should test your pancreas but also liver enzymes. It is good that your colonoscopy was good, but I would recommend to do it this year also.
