What Causes Sore Bicep, Numb Forearm And Tingling Sensation In Wrist?
Question: Hi. My right arm has a sore bicep, a numbness on the top of the forearm and a tingling in the wrist and into the thumb. I train (gym / cycling) regularly and tried a new workout last Friday so assumed I had just tweaked something. But it has been five days and is put getting any better. Should I be worried?
Brief Answer:
Pronator Teres Syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question. Your symptoms are suggestive of pronator trees syndrome which is entrapment of the median nerve at the front of the elbow joint. Most cases are self limiting and improve spontaneously. Symptoms can be helped with rest, cold compresses and anti-inflammatory medication. Steroid injections and or surgical release can be performed but are seldom necessary.
I hope this answers you question.
