What Causes Sore Bumps On Tip Of Tongue?
Viral/fungal infection to rule out by culture of mouth swab...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I'd appreciate to have a photo of the sore bumps on the tip of your tongue to analyze myself specifically.
The sore bumps on the tip of your tongue with one being white in color are indicative for possible oral infection:
- viral: if you have had flu-like symptoms recently
- fungal: if you have been using antibiotics recently or if you are wearing dentures
I advise to:
- keep a good oral hygiene
- culture the mouth swab to exclude pathological bacterial/fungal infection in order to start specific treatment
- apply oral anti-septic solution that you can find over the counter containing iodine. We usually prescribe oral Methylene-Blue solution in our country in such cases, however, iodine solution has shown good results too.
Hope it was of help!
