What Causes Sore Throat And Diarrhea Post Unprotected Oral Sex?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Oral sex carries a low risk for HIV infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Oral sex carries a low risk for HIV/STD.
You received oral sex, not gave oral sex. So throat infection is unlikely be due to STD causes. Fingering also has a negligible risk only.
In HIV earliest manifestation can occur, in the presence of an infection, 3-4 weeks after the risky contact and not earlier than that. So your symptoms are not due to HIV as it occured within 2 days. Sore throat, fever and diarrhea are common symptoms for many conditions. Anybody can get at anytime. Such a common menace. It would be an ordinary bacterial or viral fever which can easily acquired during close intimact during sex either due kissing or as an air born infection. Consult your physician he will cure you easily.
HIV RNA PCR (qualitative or quantitative?), can pick up virus particles as early as a week after the infection but can be considered as conclusive by 4 weeks.
If you want to be sure, please wait for 12 weeks and have a 4th generation Combo test and rule out the possibilities of both HIV 1and 2 together as RNA PCR can rule out HIV 1 infection only which is more common (more than 99%).

oRAQUIK IS ALSO ANTIBODY DETECTION TEST ONLY.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
ORAQUIK also an antibody detection test and will be reliable only after the window period.
ALL PCR tests are highly reliable and more conclusive by 4 weeks. A negative test by 6 weeks definitely would rule out HIV 1 infection as HIV RNA PCR detects HIV antigen and not the antibodies.
As the oral sex carries a low risk for the transmission of STD/HIV. If you can ignore the same. If you want to have a fool-proof test to rule out HIV 1 and 2, it is better to repeat the test for HIV/STD 12 weeks after the exposure.

HIV Rapid,Elisa,Combo test rule out HIV 1 and 2 by 12 weeks after exposure.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I appreciate your decision.
When doubt came to your mind it is better to get clarify the same with test and ruling out the same, that will relieve unnecessary mental tension.
I would suggest you to have the test after 12 weeks so that you can rule out the possibility of both HIV 1 and 2. (Test by 4 weeks can rule out only HIV 1 infection unless there will be availability of special PCR test for HIV 2 infection also which will be reliable by 4 weeks itself).
