What Causes Sore Throat And Yellow Pus-filled Blisters On Back Of Throat?
Question: Hi i just started (i noticed the sore throat today a little after eating yogurt with chocolate malt balls)getting a sore throat just on my right side. I have white/yellow bumps. Puss like also on the side. Its sore and hurts a little to swallow. Its also red. I have no other symptoms. When i first noticed the spots i rinsed my mouth and gargled mouth wash and cleaned the back of my tongue with a tongue scraper. I noticed a few tinges of blood when spitting. I also gargled hot salt water which helped with the pain. And it no longer hurts to swallow.But im worried. I have a new sexual partner. i was tested for stds before him and came up negative. I havent been active for a week. can i be over reacting ? I also have anxiety. i cannot afford to go to the doctor, i just went yesterday for pain in my left hip which was diagnosed as bursitis.

-- Do you have fever? Strep throat comes together with fever, swollen nodes in the neck and luck of cough. if you have all these criteria, then yes you can take Penicillin and take it for at least 7 days. Continue with the gargles.
-- Do you have vaginal symptoms as well? If you have had vaginal or anal intercourse as well, then most probably you would have symptoms in those areas as well.
-- Checking doesn't hurt. Penicillin will cover as well couple of sexually transmitted disease. Anyway talk with your partner to get checked, so you enjoy your relationship without having to worry about possible infection.

I dont have a fever, its 97.3. I have no vaginal symptoms. A few days before my 4th week my period started to spot before hand. And its been extremely light. I called my gyno when it first happened and they said it was normal. That im adjusting to my new pill because i used to have iud. I forgot to mention i had the hpv shot as well. I think ill start the penicillin tomorrow if the symptoms do not go away.
