What Causes Sore Throat, Ear Ache And Cold While On Difflam?

2. My throat got worse at a very slow pace everyday, today I have stronger feeling of sore throat (but still not painful).
3. Before seeing a GP today, I just drank more water, slept more hours and had echinacea liquid for my throat. But no signs of improvement.
4. Yesterday morning felt very sharp shooting pain on my right ear when begin to chew at breakfast time. Then I stopped chewing and wait for a few minutes. Then I no longer felt the pain.
5. Then last night, when I chew at dinner time, I felt something very slight movement inside my left ear. Then I waited a moment and it went away.
6. Then this morning I felt strong feeling of something in my Right ear (Same feeling with the pressure on my ear as if airpalne is landing soon), seemed something moved a little bit.
7. I also have feeling of something on my Left ear, but very slight feeling, not as strong as compared to right ear.
8. I don't feel any signs of hearing loss at this moment.
9. I had my body check done on 26th XXXXXXX and No Significantly Abnormality was detected during hearing test using Weber and Rinnie.
10. I have no known history of ear wax blockage; no discharge nor drainage from both ears
11. Today GP couldn't feel any swollen or painful lymph node in the neck.
12. She just checked my throat looked normal although I told her my sore throat has been developing at a super slow pace.
13. She said I just have a flu, and that the ear pain will disappear gradually.
14. She just prescribed me with Telfast-D (take one each day) and Difflam (anti-inflammatory/anti-bacterial lozenges, take 3 each day)
15. I actually don't agree that the ear pain would go away itself. I had cold & flu in the past and Never had any ear pain together with cold / flu.
16. In the past, if I catch a cold/flu, it develops at a very slow pace. Hence this explains why my sore throat usually takes many days to become really sore / painful.
17. I tried making appointments with ENT specialists in my city and many of them are available next week or even next month.
18. Kindly please provide me any advice before I see any ENT specialist, and advice me any possible cause.
19. Additional point: I always feel muscus at my throat (no runny nose); and my temperature is normal.
Seems to be viral Illness.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having sore throat with episodic ear pain.
Answers and solutions for your query.
1. As per your clinical details, It appears to be acute pharyngitis (sore throat) with eusthacian tube blockage.
2. Anatomically, base of tongue and deeper part of throat shares same nerve supply with ear ( vagus nerve).
Any pain from throat to ear or ear to throat can be mediated or referred from this nerve ( Answer for your ear sharp pains.
3. Eusthacian tube (tube connecting the middle ear with the junction of back of nose and throat) blockage also gives shooting pains ( muscles of this tube comes from deeper part of throat). This blockage usually occurs with viral cold, sinusitis.
4. In my opinion, You can continue (telephast-d, contains fexofenadine+ pseudo ephedrine) with Diiflam lasozens. With that, do steam inhalation and salt water gargle twice daily with tab. dolo 650 mg ( paracetamol) twice daily for pain.
5. In case of persistence or complications, you require a course of antibiotic.
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.

Last night just before I slept, I notice itching inside my right ear. That persisted for around 15 seconds.
Today while sitting without any movement, suddenly.I heard ringing sound in my right ear, and that it lasted for around 30 seconds.
Can this be any chance of inner ear infection or otitis issue?
NO INVOLVEMENT OF INNER EAR.

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.
Simple Itching and ringing in ear are the symptoms of middle ear and external ear involvement (inner ear always gives giddiness, vomiting and hearing loss symptoms).
