Question: I have had a virus. Extremely soar throat, night sweats, spitum with blood, loss of smell. Went to the doctor, taking antibiotics for 3 days. Symptoms a bit better, but still have blood in my spitum. Should I be worried it is something else? How long does it take to get rid of the symptoms?

Brief Answer:
You need to get a chest X ray done. Upload reports.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Going through the details it is apparent that you have an upper respiratory tract infection. However, you need to get a chest X ray done to evaluate the cause of the blood in sputum. This is important and should not be ignored. If ignored it could turn serious or some serious underlying issue could be present. Treatment would depend upon the underlying cause which needs to be found out.

Let me know if I could help further.
