What Causes Sore Throat, Testicular Pain, Night Sweats And Nasal Bleeding?
Question: I have had a sore throat for the past week, 5 days ago started experiencing testicle discomfort, the past 2 days I have bled abnormally from my nose causing long blood clots to come out and today I woke up from sleep covered in sweat. Are any of those related?

Work up is required to look for an infectious cause for the symptoms even though sore throat, night sweats and testicular pain can be due to a viral infection, the localized cause should be looked for. The throat should be examined for clinical evidence of possible bacterial infection eg exudates, follicular tonsillitis, pharyngitis. Throat swab for culture sensitivity testing should also be done and antibiotics can be advised subsequently. The scrotal contents should be examined. An ultrasound of testes, complete blood count, ESR /CRP and urine microscopy should be done in this regard to determine the cause of the pain. For the nose bleed local examination to look for a bleeder, platelet counts, bleeding /clotting profile, PT/INR can be advised to be more certain about the cause and to treat it accordingly.
