What Causes Sore Throat?
Pharyngitis. Medical management.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. From the image you seem to have a Pharyngitis (sore throat) which is involving the entire throat including the tonsils.
2. There is a lot of variation in the appearance of the throat from person to person. Hence more emphasis is given to the symptoms.
3. Most sore throats are easily treated with broad spectrum antibiotics (if there is fever or severe pain), anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic medications and a medicated mouth wash. You will require a prescription for these medications.
4. A throat swab taken from the tonsils and the back of the throat will help.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.

Infections, allergy and so on
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. By the look of your throat, it may be a viral or bacterial infection.
2. If the throat looks like this even after the sore throat has healed, it means that the throat is sensitive (because of all this inflamed lymphoid tissue seen in the image).
3. This is fairly common and the reasons are infections, allergy, food intolerance, cold/spicy/sour food, colds/post nasal drips/sinusitis and acid reflux. This would account for the halitosis (bad breath).
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.

Tonsilloliths
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. Tonsilloliths are concretions of food particles that form in the normal crypts present on the tonsils. The tonsils are designed to pick up ingested food particles when we swallow.
2. Tonsilloliths can be gently removed while brushing. The only permanent solution is a tonsillectomy.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.
