What Causes Soreness In Left Temple Area, Lumps Under The Skin And Headache?

default
Posted on Wed, 13 Apr 2016
Question: I have developed soreness and sensitivity in my left temple area near my left eye. I have had no injury. It is very sore and tender to lay on that side of my head. There are a couple of lumps under the skin in my temple region. Not a skin problem. I have had slight dull headaches in that area.

Brief Answer:
Probably hair follicles infection/inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Since there are underskin lumps evident (lymph nodes), probably it is infection of hair follicles that is causing your symptoms.

Another less possible condition that may be related to these symptoms is giant cell temporal arteritis, an autoimmune disease that affects temporal artery, narrowing and thickening its wall.

You should be examined as a first step by your primary care Doctor, who, besides clinical examination, can order further tests ( full blood count, ESR rate, autoimmune antibodies etc.) in order to achieve a correct diagnosis and treatment.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
