What Causes Sores In Mouth After Gallbladder Surgery?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Apr 2015
Question: I think i originally asked about sores in my mouth when i opened this site. I have since had emergency gallbladder surgery to remove an ischemic gallbladder full of stones and sludge. I thought the mouth sores must have come from toxins secondary to toxic gbladder. However, i still have enlarged papilae(?spelling) on my tongue that look like frog bumps in the back and feel like sandpaper on the tip, throat remains sore after several months, sores have lessened but still appear 1or2 at a time, gastroparesis is hanging in there, chronic constipation has led to inability to have a bm without using an enema so trialing meds from g.i. Doc. Eyes are dryer...still experiencing heavy joint pain. Have been looking for source of "fibromyalgia" pain since diagnosis 10 years ago. Chronic fatigue/?narcolepsy being treated with madafonil. Thinking i may need to rule out sjogrens syndrome. How would i do that

Brief Answer:
Please send me your previous reports.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

I would like to see your previous reports and if you had any history of dry eyes or dry mouth .

For ruling out sjogrens syndrome we need to get ANA , ENA and Schirmers test . But you need to have salivary pool test also .

Please tell entire history so that we can help you out in best possible way.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for reverting back.

Well going through all the history that you have provided there is a strong possibilIty of underlying CTD that is connective tissue disease of which Lupus and sjogrens syndrome remain the main differentials .

I note that you have been labelled as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue but unless and otherwise we have ruled other organic cause like lupus by serological testing its not appropriate .

Anyways you need to get CBC , ESR , S. albumin, globulin , ANA - IFA , ENA profile , Schirmers test for tear secretion testing . First we will need all these tests , if we have a positive indicator in these then we will advise you for further testing .

Any further queries you are welcome to ask.

Thank you very much for your information. I agree ruling out all other possibilities would be prudent before excepting the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. 10 years ago I did go to a rheumatologist because i had a high crp level. At that time she said she did not see anything alarming and would not recommend further testing. However since then my symptoms have severely increased with new symptoms appearing. I will take the list of labs and. Tests you recommended with me when I go to see my primary care doctor. He is very good at working with me and listening to my suggestions. I'm sure he will have no problem running these tests. I will aggressively pursue them as I have done so with any suggestions given to me concerning my health. I'm not sure which note you got from me but I also wanted to mention the emotional diagnoses as well, Anxiety disorder, mood disorder/depression, OCD.my psychiatrist is also very good at listening to my holistic concerns and relating any psychiatric diagnosis with physical diagnosis .

Dear Madam,

Thanks for reverting back.

Yes definitely you should pursue this , and get yourself evaluated for the same . The psychiatric involvement may also result and could be a manifestation of underlying CTD . So lets see what the results say and then will guide you accordingly .

Take care.
