What Causes Spinal Stenosis?
Question: what is spinal stenosis, what causes it? can it be caused by a fall or falls? does smoking cause or exacerbate it? can you die from this? will I be paralyzed because of this? is surgery required? xxxxxx.
I have been to the emergency room with severe back pain and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis following ct scan and xray I was given advil, Tylenol and 16 norvac. fyi. an waiting for aptmts with neurosurgeon and primary care physician.

'Stenosis' means narrowing.Spinal stenosis is referred to as narrowing of the bony canal which carries spinal cord.In advanced stages,it may result in compression of spinal cord and nerve roots causing numbness,sensations loss or weakness in limbs.It may need surgery in late stages.
