What Causes Spitting Up Of Blood While Coughing?
I was getting around one drop of blood when I rough, kind of roughly. If I lightly cough I dont get. Even when I brush sometimes blood comes from tooth. I would like to know the reason for this and what should I be doing. Also I have been getting more cough than around 7-8 months back. Might be because of the dust where I stay, Marathahalli, XXXXXXX Just FYI.
Thanks

There is no cause for worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. A drop of blood or blood tinged sputum is common after violent coughing.
2. The source of this blood is usually the delicate lymphoid ( tonsil-like ) tissue spread throughout the throat and the delicate lining (mucosa) of the throat.
3. The bleeding from the gums is commonly due to gingivitis or Vitamin C deficiency. Get a dental check up and routine blood tests done.
4. There is no cause for worry. This is unlikely to be any major cause. Allergy can be controlled by medication and by avoiding dust. Consult an ENT Specialist and Allergy specialist.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.

AllergoSPT. 3M N95 Mask with valve. Dust mite allergy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. Allergy can be determined by skin prick tests (such as AllergoSPT). This test can be conducted one week after stopping all anti-allergic medication.
2. For non-specific allergy such as dust, use a 3M N95 mask with valve. Change the mask once a week. Air purifiers are available from most air-conditioning manufacturers.
3. A common allergy is dust mite allergy. Anti-dust mite measures will be useful in such a case.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
