What Causes Sporadic But Significant Pain In Lower Left Abdomen?
Question: I have a sporadic though significant pain in my lower left abdomen just below my belt line that feels like some thing is sticking me. I had a similar pain years ago when a stint had been placed to assist in kidney stone treatment, this is more severe though. The stint was removed 11 years ago.
Brief Answer:
Ultra sound abdomen to confirm the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
The pain in lower left abdomen may be because of
1.urinary infection or stone.
2.constipation or loaded rectum for long time.
3.If the pain changes its character, like increases by movement of abdominal wall muscle, then it can be a muscular pain.
My suggestion to you is following,
1. Drink lot of water.
2.Add mild laxative if constipated .
3. Hot water bag locally may reduce any muscular pain.
4.An ultra sound will confirm the diagnosis.
Hope you have answer to your query, if any thing else you are welcome.
Good luck.
