Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Your current spotting is most likely to be a withdrawal bleed consequent to the intake of the emergency pill which has a high hormone content and therefore has disturbed the hormonal balance. Also, urinary infections can alter menstrual cycles and can cause spotting and breakthrough bleed.

You can also expect your next normal period to get delayed by a week or two. If you are regular with your periods, you need to take medical assistance if you do not see your next normal period even ten days after it is due.

If you had the intercourse during your safe period, you do not need the emergency pill. Also, try to restrict the use of the emergency pill to only a couple of times a year. Instead, go for some form of regular contraception.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for more information. I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
White discharge can be ignored.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

If you are seeing only white discharge, you need not bother. If you see red and white discharge together, it could be the breakthrough that I mentioned earlier. Such a discharge usually subsides in a week and if this is more than that, you need to seek help. Also, since you have taken the pill within the stipulated time, you are well protected and hence need not worry about conception.

Hope I have answered your doubt. Please get back if you need any more information. I will be ready to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Brief Answer:
As below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

I would like to say once again that it is common to see a withdrawal bleeding about a few days after using emergency contraception as the pill causes disturbance in the hormonal balance of the body owing to the high hormonal content in it and this lasts for a few days.

This is the most likely cause of the spotting in your case too. Associated urinary infection may have prolonged the spotting. Only if you do not get any relief within the next couple of days, should you see a specialist. Your next normal period also may get delayed due to the pill-effect and please get help from a specialist if you fail to see your next normal period ten days after it is due.

Hope I have clarified all your queries. Please contact for any more information. I will be available to help.

Wish you good health.

regards,
Shanti.V.
