What Causes Spotting After Having Emergency Pill?
Question: Hi,
My partner took emergency pill (CLR-72) first time in last two months.( Its been two weeks since she had period). She has taken it on sunday evening and from wednesday night on wards. she noticed blood is mixed up in her urine . And some time there is visible blood spots as if she get during her period time. She also feels body heat.
She didnt notice anything like this when she taken Ipill during previous incidence.(2-3 months back).
Please advice why she feels like this now?what needs to be done?

Withdrawal bleeding few days after emergency contraceptive pill is well known. It occurs in some women and in some cycles. So the spotting that is happening now and the warmth is not unusual. She need not be worried.
Generally this spotting stops in 2-3 days and rarely extends beyond 5 days. I would start some treatment if she bleeds heavy and for prolonged period of times.
Besides this bleeding, I would expect her to have a delayed menstrual cycle this month. She need not be worried about pregnancy if that happens. Pregnancy test can be considered if her cycles are delayed for more than 2-3 weeks.
