What Causes Spotting And Breast Tenderness After Having I Pill?

Delayed menses following ipill
Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
THE FACT THAT YOU HAD SPOTTING ON 12 JULY AFTER TAKING IPILL ON 5TH JULY, so practically 12th july becomes your date of withdrawal bleeding and confirmed that you were not pregnant then itself. However now your next periods are expected in this week between 12th to 20th august as the most common side effect of ipill is delayed menses for next 1-2 cycles , after pregnancy has been ruled out.
The fact that you have started experiencing premenstrual symptoms like breast tenderness and abdominal cramps, your menses should start in next 2 -3 days. Please wait for the menses to start as there is no need to worry when pregnancy has been ruled out.
Regards

one thing i also want to know, is there any other side effects of pill? does it affects the future pregnancy? I have heard that i pill can also lead to the ectopic pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Ectopic pregnancy is not noted because of ipill usage. The only side effect is the delay in menses for next 1-2 cycles and if taken in the mid cycle can often lead to irregular bleeding as well.
Infertility is not a side effect of ipill. Its a high dose natural progesterone which intiates a withdrawal after usage and doesn't interfere with ovulation or fertilisation at all.
So rest assured.

and what to do if by chance periods do not turn up till 20th? can i use tablets then, that can let me flow? or some ultrasound need to b done?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If the menses are delayed beyond 20th then you should get an ultrasound pelvis to check for endometrial thickness which if found more than 9 mm then you can opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones which shall help initiating the menses.
So presently just wait and watch for menses to return naturally.
