Question: I am very worried. I went on mini pill for a couple of weeks in January and the spotting was so bad I stopped. Since then nothing has been normal. I had a heavy period 15th Feb and 24 days later have started spotting. Its very light. Is this a period? Or should I be worried? The only time ive had sex have been the night before both blood loss have started. Coincidence or something to worry about?
Brief Answer:
Due to hormonal imbalance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The spotting now and the heavy bleeding during your last periods is likely to be due to a mild hormonal imbalance. This usually subsides on its own without any treatment in 1-2 months.
The blood loss after having sex seems to be a coincidence only. This is not likely to cause a heavy bleeding. In case such heavy bleeding episodes are recurrent then a local examination will help in ruling out any polyp or a cervical pathology. Hormonal treatment may be needed to regularize your periods in case of persistent spotting.
