What Causes Stabbing Pain And Swelling In The Calf?

Labs and next steps recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
It may be just a muscular pain. But, since you have all these chronic condition, we need to make sure that it is not coming as a complication of them or as the side effect of the medications. For this reason what I recommend is:
-- Consider a Doppler ultrasound of the veins in the leg to rule out deep vein thromboses.
-- If that its normal, then next step it is the doing a metabolic panel. Most important are the electrolytes because they may give cramping- potassium, sodium and chloride levels. Also checking creatinine, liver functions tests will help.
Meanwhile, keep the leg elevated, rest, apply ice on it and take a painkiller that doesn't react with your medication like acetaminophen.
Hope this is helpful.
