Question: Hi, I have a son who is 2. 5 years only. He has suddenly started stammering from last Wednesday. I am very much concerned about his this behavior. He speaks properly otherwise and also speaks 3 -4 words at a time. He was speaking normally before Wednesday. Should I show him to the Doctor, any specialist? He has started saying like Mmmmmmmm mama, PPPPPPPP Papa and if he does not get the word he stops talking. Please guide.

Brief Answer: Do not be concerned.... Detailed Answer: Hi, I understand you are very concerned with his new development. However most experts believe this issue is not a serious concern and that he will out grow it eventually. Keep a watch on his language development. If he persist to stammer say in the next 3-6 months visit your pediatrician. He/she can assess his language skills. A speech pathologist referral is entailed after the assessment. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications. Regards
