What Causes Sticky Discharge From Penis While On Azithromycin For STD?
Question: Took Azithromycin 250mg for 3 days. Finished them last saturday. Now the pain is less, from a scale 1-10 I would say its 1. However, today i noticed a sticky discharge in my undergarments.
Please note that friday i went out drinking after 6 hours from taking the capsules and got drunk. Thanks

What was the reason for the intake of azithromycin? If it is for urethritis and gonorrhea I would say that it is under dosed and you lack another antibiotic which is cefixime.
If the pain already lessened and there is minimal fluid, I would observe for the meantime. If the pain worsens and the discharge increases then I would seek a urology consult so he can prescribe you the antibiotics you need.

for my patient I give azithromycin 1 gram and cefixime 400mg both for single dose only.
azithromycin would only cover for chlamydial infection and not for the bacterial component.
But like what I said earlier if the pain went away and there is minimal discharge then you can observe for a few days. Drink plenty of fluids and ascorbic acid 500 mg two times a day to boost your immune system.
