What Causes Stomach Ache After Taking Flagyl?
Question: i was given Azithral 500 tablet twice for 35 days for cough , cold fever.then i was ok but on the last day i had severe toothache for which the dentist gave me flagyl 200 for 5 days. now i have a severe stomach problem and my dentist asked to stop flagyl and take derolac , which i m taking. as my stomach problem is persisting my physician gave me taxim oz - twicw daily for 3 days. i m confused

You got stomach pain due to back to back use of Antibiotics.
Darolac is a probiotic which is used in the treatment of antibiotic induced stomach pain or diarrhoea.
You didn't get any relief from that probably because there might have been intestinal spasm also which needed antispasmodic drugs.
My advise is don't restart antibiotic as advised by your physician. Instead get a prescription for antispasmodic drug and use it, your pain will subside.

I would still advice not to take antibiotics as of now . Get a Stool routine test done and if it shows infection only then antibiotics could be started .
You can get a prescription of Redotil for your loose motions and instead of Spasril I would recommend Cyclopam for your abdominal pain. If pain persists inspite of using these medications kindly get an Ultrasound abdomen pelvis scan done and revert back .
