You already have belching and cramps and passing gas, something is not right.
Dark stools in an elderly needs investigation definitely. YOu should contact your primary care doctor. Dark stools say that blood is oozing in the gut and is digested to give dark color stools. Are you on iron supplements? If not please go see a doctor. It is normal to have dark colored stools if you take iron supplements and antacids.
