What Causes Stomach Growling And Diarrhea?

Question: Two days of stomach growling, bubbling if you will and feel ill when drinkning milk. Accompnied by gas forced direahha no matter what is eaten drank. Just came up out of blue, wife had same problem except for abdominal pain. No travel, highly doubt its food poisoning, may have picked up from friend who had hard stomach, ill and direahha that lasted 30 days. Thought he wouldn't be carrier after waiting period. Sooooo

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms may be caused by a bacterial infection of gastrointestinal tract, pancreas insufficiency or partial bowels obstruction.
If you have any fever, blood in stool, mucus in stool, abdominal pain is present, bacterial infection seems most probable.
If you have nausea, bloating, gas obstruction, have lost some weight recently, partial bowels obstruction is most possible.
Pancreas insufficiency give foul smelling, fatty stools.

Please note that every diarrhea which lasts longer than 48 hours needs to be checked with stool test. As you are over 50, colonoscopy is necessary as well to rule out colon cancer.
