What Causes Stomach Pain After Eating?

Question: Hello. My 8 year old daughter has been experiencing stomach pain only after eating for over one month now. She had chickenpox two months ago. At first I thought it was constipation or gas pain. She was encouraged to drink more water. Her bowel movements are sometimes green and normal consistency or orange and soft consistency. She never has a fever or vomits. The pain seems to be in the lower intestine and nothing feels tender when I press over each quadrant of her abdomen. We have tried to avoid bread or dairy at times to see if she responds better and it doesn't seem to make a difference. She's not under any stress and doesn't try to avoid school or activities. Could this be a virus?
Brief Answer:
this could be parasitic infestation
Detailed Answer:
Hi
You have given good detailed history. We also need to consider parasitic infestation like Giardia, amoeba or worms as the cause of such long standing pain. Second cause could be deficiency of digestive enzymes which can occur after some GI infections.
Please consider talking about those two possibilities with her pediatrician. The doctor will know about tests to exclude them. And if needed she might benefit from antiparasitic medicines and oral digestive enzyme containing syrups.
Hope I answered your query
Best regards
