To recapitulate: Male/73 - tried Pepto Bismol - after eating very little yesterday , vomited about three days of food - feel the same symptoms after eating very little today - thinking of leaving processed food ...
This history is suggestive of something that needs further investigations:
Gastroparesis
Gastric outlet obstruction
I would advise in such a situation the following:
- Start a PPI, Antacid and Domperidone for gastric motility improvement.
- If no response, you obviously need to see the Gastroenterologist for upper GI Endoscopy, biopsy.
- X-ray of the abdomen in standing position.
- Ultrasonography of the abdomen.
- This is important if the medical management and stoppage of the process foods does not help you.
Consult your Doctor to get an appropriate treatment as soon as possible and further tests if required to get an early diagnosis.
