What Causes Stomach Pain Post Consumption Of Kerosene?
Question: a friend has been taking small amounts of kerosene, 1 teaspoon a day amounting to several liters on recommendations of some quack or other, up to one month ago. Now she has acut stomach pain. Are they likely to be connected

So her symptoms may be related with Kerosene use.
To my opinoin she needs to be evaluated with :
- upper endoscopy
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Blood work
It is the best way to determine if she has stomach damage.
Another causes that explains her symptoms are :
-acute gastroenteritis
- stomach ulcer.
For the moment start to use PPI like prilosec and antacids. Stop immediately Kerosene use.
