What Causes Stomach Pain Under Rib Cage And Trouble Swallowing?
Question: hello my name is XXXXXXX and I've been on prodaxa since Dec 2011 I have AF and have had two catheter Ablations the last one in April this year. I still have AF. I'm having problems with the nerves in both my legs also if I take the medication late at night (if I forget) I get terrible pains in my stomach just under the rib cage and have trouble swollowing it feels like a big lump is stuck in there

Pradaxa is a blood thinning drug used in patients with high risk of stroke of AF as in your case.
One of the side effects of this drug is increased risk for bleeding.
The terrible pains in your stomach and trouble you get swallowing are due to gastritis or stomach mucosa irritation (most probably due to use of medications like Pradaxa).
Apart Ural (antacid), I advise to start taking PPIs (omeprazole, pantoprazole, etc.) to get pain relief. You need a prescription for these drugs. You can discuss it further with your doctor.
Your problems with the nerves in your legs need further evaluation:
- physical examination by a neurologist
- Doppler ultrasound of the blood vessels in the legs
Then, will be decided on proper therapy. Meanwhile, I advise to:
- keep massaging your legs
- raise your legs wherever you can
- keep moving: physical activity will improve blood circulation
- start taking vit.B complex and Mg supplementation to improve the symptoms
