Question: FOR Dr Rovena Murati

Hope u will be fine. your suggestions are working .NOW my stomach is improving as i told you before its gradually improving that i can feel(feeling hungry, less pain , stool ok). But only problem that i feel is today and yesterday one or two times i feel pain in stomach . its near navel right side and one time on left side of abdominal slightly upper portion. But pain was for seconds. and also sometimes i feel some sound from stomach like gass or something. is this normal or improving ? means how much time it can take to be normal. ? problem is some times i delay my lunch and during that time this happened . i am drinking too much water and i think its helping .and one more thing before all this happening i was sleeping very less means you can say only 4 or 4 and 1/2 hours. and now i have changed my sleeping time to 6 or 7 hours. question is does these less sleeping can cause this stomach problem? i am trying to control everything.
Only thing that is not possible for me is anxiety or stress . I am failed to do these things. I was very much energetic and ambitious person with thousands of future plans. But now i am not interested in these things. i could not found any psychiatrist in my area.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

I am glad that you are feeling better.Continue following strictly the suggestions that we have already discussed and you will feel better day after day.

It is normal that sometimes you can feel symptoms like slight stomach pain ,or bloating ,gas and gurgling in stomach. As long as these symptoms don't persist and last only few minutes ,you don't need to worry.

You need to keep a healthy lifestyle which means eat healthy ,exercise regularly and sleep well.
Sleeping enough hours (7-8 hours at night ) is essential for your health.
If you don't sleep enough for a long time you may have problems including poor memory ,difficulty concentrating ,feeling tried and fatigue ,headaches, anxiety and stress.
Poor sleep in addition to unhealthy eating habits can cause stomach problems.

It is very important to sleep enough hours every night and to have a good sleep (the quality of sleep is important too).

As am confident that as your health improve and your symptoms subside ,your anxiety will also improve.
With some help ,everything will be like before and you will start again making ambitious plans for your future.
Try not to think about diseases and symptoms .Do some things to distract yourself like going out with friends, meeting new peoples ,you can find out things that you love (hobbies) like dancing ,playing sports.
Relaxation techniques or Yoga are very helpful to control anxiety .You may give it a try to see if works for you.

If you can find a psychiatrist in your area ,you may search for Therapist or Psychologist .They may help you too.

Hope I have answered your queries.
If you have any other question or doubts to clarify ,please do not hesitate to ask.

Take care,
Dr.Rovena

Before starting this i was feeling shivering like feeling. is it normal? means winter is coming so is it common before starting cold or flu? and one more thing i do not knw i am right or wrong , from last near about 3 years i am taking a multivitamin Centrum. and during that medicine i think i was feeling very strong means i was having very less cold and flu or i gain weight during that etc, is it possible? . i stopped this medicine 2 month before just because of my stomach problem. what you think when i should start this one?

Brief Answer:
It is normal to feel shivers if you have flu .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is normal to catch a cold or flu in winter, everyone can experience it.This doesn't mean that your immune system is weak.
Common cold or flu are viral infections that affect the upper respiratory tract causing symptoms like fever ,watery eyes ,sneezing and nose secretions ,cough ,headache ,body ache etc. These symptoms may last up to 1 week and go away gradually .No specific treatment is needed.

To answer your question ,yes it is normal to feel shiver or even have fever when you catch a cold.

You maybe right about the multivitamins that you are taking because it is supposed that vitamins and minerals boost your immunity and overall health but if always is better to take essential vitamins from foods.
If you eat a healthy diet that includes a lot of vegetables and fruits ,you don't need extra vitamins .
On the other hand Multivitamin pills like Centrum can cause stomach upset and diarrhea as side effects.
So it is not a good idea to take these multivitamins ,it may cause stomach problems.Eat healthy every day any you will not need these extra vitamins.
If you still want to start them ,at least wait until your stomach is totally recovered (if you won't have stomach problems for 2-3 weeks ).

Hope it helps.
Take care,
Dr.Rovena
