Brief Answer:
does he have a colostomy?
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I need more information.
Was he operated and does he have a colostomy?
If he is smearing through colostomy you need to cut down on miralax and consult your doctor again.
Sometimes bowel flushing may be required.
Give him plenty of liquids and oral rehydration solutions like pedialyte.
Wishing your child good health.

He had hid bad bowel removed and his illeostomy and the closure of illeostomy in 2010. We left the dr last week and his answer was to get a cecostomy. I feel like there is something we are missing, I don't feel like the surgery is necessary at this time. He has had 15 inches of his large bowel removd.
Brief Answer:
Hirschprungs can extend up.
Detailed Answer:
Hirschprungs can extend up and sometimes involve segment segments unaffected before.
If constipation is not present now you can wait on coecostomy.
If this is a transient viral bug it should settle in a few days.
If not consult your doctor again.
Try probiotic like saccharomyces.
