What Causes Strained Urination Along With Irritation And Tingling Sensation?

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Dec 2015
Question: Hello,

Recently I've been having problems emptying my bladder. I feel like I have to strain to get it all out and I still feel urine in my urethra. I also feel some irritation and tingling at the tip. This started about a week ago and has gotten a little bit better, but its not going away completely. I have had an std test and I am clean. I've also done a urine dipstick and it was negative for uti( although my doc did give me antibiotics for two weeks). What could this be?

Brief Answer:
Could be due to inflammation of urethra (Urethritis)

Detailed Answer:
Hello Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have to strain for urination and have a feeling of incomplete emptying of bladder since a week .

After going through out previous thread of discussion on I think you still have some inflammation of the urethra (Urethriotis )

Tough your routine urine test and STD are reported to be negative the inflammation of urethra can not be detected in these tests .Get your urine culture done to trace out organisms causing this infection

You need to take antibiotics like Cefixime and urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin along with anti infalamatory medicine like Diclofenac twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
