Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query but I need more information regarding your wife's detoxification and current drug details.

Answer the following questions:
1. How many days before detoxification started?
2. Which drugs were given to her?
3. For how many years she was taking ativan?
4. What do you mean by strange behavior? describe the symptoms?
5. Was she suffering from any psychiatric illness apart from ativan dependence?
6. Which drugs are given to her currently?
7. Does she give any response when you try to talk to her?
8. Does she talk alone? Do you feel that she is seeing someone? [hallucinating?]

The withdrawal features of ativan are:
-Sleep disturbance
-anxiety symptoms [racing heart beats, sweating, increase blood pressure, restlessness]
-Nausea, vomiting
-tremors in body [predominantly in hands and forearms
-Hallucinations [visual and auditory]
-seizures
-Delirium [acute confusional state in which person is not attentive]

If she is behaving completely strange then she need urgent attention.
