Question: My friend is periodically acting very strange...not herself..saying strange words..clapping her hands...asking for a blanket while she was in the tub...saying strange things...not remembering when it's happening...what could cause this?
Brief Answer:
Get her evaluated by a neurologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
There is a possibility of complex partial seizures.
Another possibility is psychiatric illness like delusion or schizophrenia.
You should get her examined and investigated by a doctor at the earliest.

Thank you so much for your quick reply..I so appreciate it! I wanted to add just a bit more information and see if it might change your thoughts a bit... while I consider my friend a good friend.. I have not known her too long (a few years at most).. While I support her and am worried... there are a couple other situational things that i wonder if could be contributing to these strange behaviors... she is 40 years old and VERY tiny... maybe 95lbs.. she has recently begun experimenting with heroin (snorting it I think - as I KNOW she is very terrified of needles)... she is also more tired than most in that she is stressed due to a teenage son and difficult ex-partner...I was thinking this could have a lot to due with the strange behavior too.. am I way off course or could this be a possibility? Your input is so appreciated! Thanks again!
