What Causes Strange Smelling Sweat And Urine While Having SLE And MS?

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Sep 2015
Question: I have systemic Lupus and MS. The last two months taking my pain medication, OxyContin and Percocet daily, I've started to notice a strange odor to my sweat and urine, something between oily garlic and bad meat. I've also had weight fluctuations-as much as 20 pounds in 1.5 weeks? My Lupus is untreated because I have disseminated coccioidiomycosis immetus. Can you tell me what is going on? I'm an RN. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It looks like you are suffering from a urinary tract infection. Here is how you should go about it

1. approach a gp and get a urine routine test done, if it's positive for infection get a urine culture as well
2. drink plenty of water and keep yourself well hydrated
3. you will need treatment with antibiotics, I usually start ciprofloxacin twice a day for 5 days
4. Do not ignore this matter, it might cause serious issues if left untreated

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
