What Causes Stubbornness, Aggressiveness And Hyperactivity In A 11 Year Old Child?
Question: Hi ! my 11 yr kid is very stubborn, aggressive and hyperactive. Cannot concentrate on study, sleeps less, does not like to go school. Spends more time watching TV, XXXXXXX game. He was born with rubella virus infection, premature, underweight. What to do. Pl suggest some help.

I can understand your concern. Many a time these symptoms are normal for the age and parents consider them as unusual.
There is one common condition in school going children called Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder which may present with these symptoms.
There are few criteria which should be fulfilled before labelling one having this condition.
I won't get overly worried if these symptoms are limited to home only and child is doing well in academics.In case of hyperactivity disorder the symptoms should be present at least in two settings(like in school and home),there must be significant impairment in social and academic functioning.
Also these symptoms should be there at least for 6 months.
So I would suggest you to consult a psychiatrist for clinical evaluation and also treatment like behavioral or medical treatment if needed.
