What Causes Sudden Body Aches, Chills And Fever?
Paracetamol
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Welcome to Healthcare Magic. I am Dr Anshul Varshney for your help.
For fever Dolo 650 can be taken thrice daily or 6 hourly if required.
Avoid taking Combiflam or any other pain killer until and unless Dengue is ruled out.
Usually these days viral fever is on rise.
I personally treat my patients with Dolo 650 and add up an anti allergic like Levocetrizine if any associated cough or running nose is there.
If a person improves in 3 days, I continue the same for next 2 days.
If there is no improvement, I prescribe tests.
So, at this point of time you can give him Tab Dolo 650 as it's very safe.
Make him drink plenty of water and other fluids.
If he has any other associated symptoms, please let me know.
I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query please ask me.
He had gone out to attend a function and started feeling feverish from morning and took Dolo 650 at 12:00 PM. At around 4:00 PM he came back home and slept. After this started feeling chills and fever.
I tested his temparature by putting the thermometer in his mouth and it was 103.4 F and immediately gave the second dose of Dolo at around 4:30 PM as the fever was high. We have put a wet cloth on his forehead and giving him water at regular intervals.
He dont have cold and cough but has headache. Also, one of his eye was red from yesterday without any pain. Is this a indicatoon of anything?
Can i wait ttoday and take him to doctor tomorrow if the condition dont improve? Please assist
Wait.
Detailed Answer:
At this point of time he just needs Dolo and Cold sponging.
His fever would spike again. Start doing sponging.
If you feel any abnormal symptoms like irrelevant talking, drowsiness you may need to take him to hospital else you can wait till tomorrow morning.
Good luck.
As mentioned in my earlier question, he had high fever day before yesterday and took Dolo twice and since he also had severe headache took one dose of Cold & Flu tablet with composition paracetamol, cetirizine, hydrochloride and caffeine. He didn't take dolo while taking this tablet as this already has paracetamol(325 mg) in it.
Cold and Flu tablet is given by some doctor as he gets headache 2 to 3 times in a month and we did all the tests and everything seems normal. Doctor suspected it could be a migraine headache and it stops after he take Cold & Flu tablet. Please provide your inputs on this tablet also as he seems to be taking it whenever he has headache.
Coming back to fever, yesterday the fever was not there and even he even went outside and completely ok. But today morning again started feeling feverish and headache. Morning the fever was 101.9 *F and he again took the Cold and Flu tablet morning. Just now(4:15 PM) I checked the body temperature and it is 98.9 *F. He took only one tablet in the morning. He seems to be feeling better now but has the body ache and don't feel like eating anything.
Do you think he should be tested by a doctor or can I try any medication as per your suggestion? Please advise.
Detail follows.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend, Viral fever comes off and on got 3-5 days.
You can get his blood count done to be sure.
I would not recommend cold and flu tablet for simple fever.
We can evaluate his migraine problem one he recovers from fever.
My recommendations would be to give him Dolo 650 thrice a day.
Get him examined by a physician for any other causes of fever.
Good luck.
Doctor suggested to stop all the tablets and have plenty of fluids and recheck the platelet count again tomorrow and hospital admission needed only if it drops below 0.50* Lakhs/cumm.
He is complaining on the entire body pain along with abdomen. Are we on right track?
YES, tract is right
Detailed Answer:
Hi, Yes give Dolo only for fever and body pain. Platelet counts needs to be measured daily till they start rising back.
Make sure he doesn't brush his teeth. He can apply and paste softly through his fingers.
He should not strain in toilet.
No pain killers to be taken at all.
Give plenty of fluids.
I wish him a speedy recovery.
