What Causes Sudden Dizziness And Loss Of Balance?
Dizziness
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Dizziness can be related to a number of causes that include hypotension, hypoglycemia, electrolyte imbalance etc. People can often confuse dizziness with vertigo, which means a feeling that the place around you is spinning or you are spinning. Cause for the dizziness or vertigo should be determined and treatment can be advised accordingly. Get your BP checked and eat a sweet at home if the BP is normal and the sweet improves the dizziness then it was likely related to hypoglycemia. If the dizziness or vertigo increase and there is associated nausea and/or vomiting then you should go to an ER immediately to examine you for any central cause. Dizzy person with syncope history requires primarily a cardiac work up while vertigo needs a neurological workup.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
