thanks
XXXX
actually, I also have flu like symptoms and sore throat started in Feb. they come and go. hot flashes also.
Can be hormone related.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The feeling of hot flashes and tiredness can be related to hormonal changes or hypothyroidism or reduced Vitamin D3 levels or a reduction in dosage of Doxepin. Duration of menopausal symptoms may be variable in different women. Some may experience the symptoms for a few days and then become menopausal while others may experience them for years. Hence maintain a healthy lifestyle, light but regular exercise, a proper diet and taking calcium and vitamin D are the most useful measures in the long term. Bring in some lifestyle changes:
1.) Eat healthy nutritious balanced diet which should include fresh fruits and Green leafy vegetables.
2.) Avoid high calorie foods and saturated fats.
3.) Exercise regularly for an hour and brisk walk for 30 to 40 minutes daily and maintain a healthy weight
4.) Avoid smoking and alcoholism
5.) Avoid stress, practice relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation
6.) make sleep a priority and sleep for a minimum of 8 hours daily
7.) Dress in layers and avoid hot beverages warm rooms, caffeine, Spicy foods, to avoid hot flashes

I am 65 years old, and I have both of my ovaries out in 1995. will menopause symptoms last that long. What about the flu like symptom and sore throat that I also experiences since Beginning of February until now.
Can be a generalized viral infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The symptoms that you have can be due to estrogen deficiency that can appears many years after removal of ovaries. If there is an associated sore throat then a generalized viral infection needs to be ruled out. Such mild viral syndrome can persist for many weeks.
You can take an anti pyretic like acetaminophen and green tea to boost your immunity.
Hope my answer is helpful.
