What Causes Sudden Occurrence Of Itchy Palms?
Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query
Probably you have developed allergic contact dermatitis.
It's a common condition and can be easily treated with the use of a mild steroid cream like cortisone to be applied twice daily for a week.
Take an antihistamine tablet to control itch.
If possible upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you.

I would send you a picture but there is no particular redness or swelling thus no contrast. (I'm a white person. )I was thinking it could have been an insect bite (we have lots of trees on our property) but the bilateral nature of it didn't fit that and there are no obvious red marks. However, your thought of using a steroid crème is excellent. The symptoms are subsiding after using the cold compresses. I'll be back in contact if the symptoms continue for a couple days.
Thanks for your assistance.
