What Causes Sudden Onset Of Chest Pain And Locked Jaws?

Her jaws were tightly locked and unable to open mouth, her pulse rate was normal at this time, she was unable to drink water too. She complained of severe chest pain for 2 hours and still has mild pain, its been 36 hours she is with the pain. I had consulted doctor to find that condition was normal through ECG report. Why is this abnormal behaviour? What is this condition ? She had faced similar problem 10 years ago. What do I do next to get her diagnosed and treated ?

Hi Syed,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.
If your mother would have presented to me as an outpatient, I would have advised you as-
This episode can resemble an atypical episode of seizure. In other words,it is rare presentation to think for any medical disease. However, seizure can be the closest we can think off. We need to get a 'MRI Brain-Epilepsy protocol' done along with an 'Video Electroencephalogram(EEG) with induction protocol'.These investigations are mandatory part for evaluating your mother. Also, please get serum electrolytes, blood sugar, kidney function tests and liver function tests.
Please follow up with the reports.
Hope I have answered your query for now.If you have follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.
