Dear Mrs,
Actually it is very difficult to diagnose something which has happened two years ago, and no examinations have been done.
But I will try to help you as much as it is possible.
In his age if he is not overweight, has good diet and exercises regularly, he has quite low cardiovascular risk, even if his father had diabetes and heart attacks.
The most common complications of air travel (usually long distance travels) are deep venous thrombosis wich can lead to pulmonary embolism.
But it is quite rare, and happens mainly in patients, who have venous problems or hereditary coagulation disorders.
In case of your husband if he had breathlessness during that episode and following couple of days, we can think about pulmonary embolism. Anyway 2 years have passed and there is nothing to worry if he has no complaints.
If not, it could be simple vegetative reaction, like sudden and abrupt change of blood pressure triggered by pressure changes.
It can also be a panic attack.
Hope I could help you
Wishing a good health to your husband
In case of further questions don't hesitate to ask
Regards,
Welcome back

Dear Mrs,
I would advise you to have annual check-ups: ECG and lab tests, and take aspirin for a few days in case he has a planned flight. And the most important thing is to follow healthy lifestyle.
