Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM
You are concerned about sudden increase in pain to your testicles. This pain sounds like it is behind the testicle and radiates into the groin. Most of your pain is on the right and you have a left inguinal hernia.
From my assessment it sound like you may actually have another hernia on the right. Hernias are congenital and more than likely are on both sides. Even though you can not feel the one on the right it is probably there. Since you already have a hernia have you considered getting it repaired? Today's surgeons can repair hernias with a laparoscopic approach and with minimal pain and down time. They actually put a mesh covering both hernias. Recovery time is about 1-2 weeks and you can be back exercising within a month.
The other possibility is that you have an infection in the epididymis. This is the tubules behind the testicle that allows sperm to move and mature and then store for ejaculation. This needs to be diagnosed by our doctor and started on antibiotics. You can also reduce the pain by wearing tighter underwear or a jock strap. The pain may last 1-2 weeks even with antibiotics.
So in summary I believe you have either a new right sided hernia and need to see a surgeon for possible repair or you have epididymitis and need to see a doctor for antibiotics and wear tighter fitting underwear.
